ECNEC approved 10 mega projects worth Tk 651 crore

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved 10 mega projects at a cost of Tk 6,651.34 crore.
The ECNEC meeting was held on Tuesday (June 8) morning under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina. Planning Minister MA Mannan told reporters after the meeting that the projects were approved at the meeting.
He said out of Tk 651 crore, the government will provide Tk 5,219.81 crore, the agency’s own financing will be Tk 798.3 crore and foreign debt will be Tk 637.50 crore.
Of the projects approved today, nine are new and one is revised. Among the new projects, the Road Transport and Highways Department’s project ‘Construction of Nalua-Baherchar Bridge over Pandav-Payra River at 27th km of Barisal (Dinarerpool) Laxmipasha-Dumki Road (Z-6044) will cost Tk 1,235 million. The project will be implemented from July 2021 to June 2026.
