ECNEC approved 6 projects at a cost of Tk 5819 crore

The meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved 6 projects at a cost of around Tk 5,619.46 crore. As a result, the government will spend Rs 5,519.87 crore from its own funds, borrow Rs 57.52 crore from abroad and the agency will finance itself at Rs 42.07 crore.
The approval was given at an ECNEC meeting chaired by Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday (March 18). The Prime Minister took part in the ECNEC via video conference from Ganobhaban and the concerned ministers-secretaries took position in the NEC conference room in the capital.
Mohammad Zainul Bari, Secretary, Planning, NEC, told a press conference after the ECNEC meeting, “A total of six projects were to be taken up by the ECNEC today. A project was rejected by the ICT division yesterday. They will present it later. Originally there were six projects today and all six have been passed.
