Government set a new price for edible oil

The government has set new prices for edible oil, especially soyabean.
According to the new price, open soybean will be sold at Tk 115 per liter and bottled soyabean at Tk 135 in the retail market.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi made the announcement at a press conference after a meeting of the National Committee on Essential Products Marketing and Distributors at the Secretariat here on Wednesday.
The Commerce Minister said the price has been fixed in consultation with the importers and traders of edible oil. The month of Ramadan is ahead, there are enough stocks at present. The price is determined after all the calculations.
He added that soybean (open) will be sold at a wholesale price of Tk 110 per liter, retail price of Tk 115 and a combined price of Tk 107 at the gate.
