Women’s rural employment project is being expanded

Women rural employment projects are being expanded in the country. To this end, the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development Cooperatives is undertaking an integrated rural employment assistance project for poor women in the second phase.
If this project is implemented, the average annual per capita income of the beneficiaries with training and loan assistance will be increased to Tk 10,000 by June 2025. By 2025, the beneficiaries are expected to create their own savings fund of an average of Tk 3,000 per head for female members and an average of Tk 5,000 per head for school-going adolescents. The total cost for the implementation of this project has been estimated at Tk 346.55 crore.
