‘Sukuk’ to implement major development projects in Bangladesh

90 percent of Muslims live in Bangladesh. Many of them have more demand for Islamic bonds (sukuk) than interest bonds. It is a worldwide popular Shariah-based Islamic bond. The speakers think that it is possible to implement big development projects of Bangladesh by using it.
The speakers were speaking at the seminar titled ‘Sukuk: The New Investment Opportunity in Bangladesh’ on the second day of the four-day road show titled ‘The Rise of Bengal Tiger: Potential of Bangladesh Capital Markets’ organized by BSEC at Park Hyatt Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Wednesday.
