The traders of the two countries had to suffer from time to time for various reasons including overcharging, syndicate problems and strikes due to the import of goods from India through Benapole land port in Jessore. However, the suffering has started to decrease as the amount of goods imported by rail continues to increase. As the traders are benefiting from this, the railways are earning huge amount of revenue from rent and revenue.
In this regard, the concerned people say that if the current trend of import continues, by the end of the financial year, the railways will be able to double the revenue and rent from this sector.
