Javier Mascherano announced his retirement

Finally, Javier Mascherano, the captain without the Argentine armband, announced retirement. He ended his successful career of a long period of one and a half years from his home club. Despite retiring from all forms of football this time, he retired from the Argentina national team in 2018.

For 17 years he has spread his football magic across Latin America and Europe. He returned to his hometown La Plata in January this year. With whom he signed a full game contract for the 2020-21 season. However, the 36-year-old defensive midfielder decided to retire early in the season.
