BSEC Chairman visited DSE

Professor Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam, Chairman, Commission on Securities and Exchange Commission of Bangladesh (BSEC) visited the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main capital market.
On Monday (November 2), a delegation led by the Chairman of BSEC visited DSE for the first time. Four commissioners were also present along with the BSEC chairman at the time.
The delegation toured the new building of DSE located in Nikunj of the capital. The chairman of the commission inquired about several brokerage houses including Midway Securities. He asked the IT department of DSE to strengthen it.
The delegation then met with the DSE Board of Directors and management authorities. They left the DSE for the commission after finishing their tour at 3 pm.
Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam, a professor at a webinar jointly organized by the Capital Market Journalists Forum (CMJF) and the Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA) last Saturday, said the DSE would be digitalized. To this end he will visit DSE on Monday.
