Bangladesh surpassed China in coronavirus cases

Bangladesh surpassed China in coronavirus cases, with 84,379 total infections as of Saturday.
The country today recorded 2,856 more cases in the past 24 hours, said the Directorate General of Health Services.
The health authorities also reported 44 new deaths from the deadly virus, bringing the tally to 1139.
China, where the pathogen originated in the end of December last year, has 83,075 coronavirus cases and 4,634 deaths from the virus so far, according to Worldometer.
Bangladesh conducted 4,86,960 tests since the country confirmed its first COVID-19 cases on March 8.
Bangladesh now stood 18th in the list of coronavirus-hit countries while US topped the table followed by Brazil, as per Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
