16 more die, 930 new infected

16 more people have died from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) while 930 others have tested positive for the lethal virus over the past 24 hours in the country. With this, the death toll from the pandemic has risen to 314 and the total number of confirmed cases to 20,995.
DGHS Additional Director General (administration) Prof Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure joining the daily health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) through online on Saturday.
A total of 6,782 samples have been tested in coronavirus testing labs across the country over the last 24 hours. Of these, 930 have been diagnosed with coronavirus, bringing the total number of positive cases to 20,995, she said.
Besides, 235 new people have recovered from the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 4,117, the health official said.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
