Prices of rice decreasd by Tk 4 per kg in Hili

The government has reduced the import duty to bring the rice market under control. Besides, it has been decided to allow import of rice at private level. On the news of importing rice from India, the price has come down by Tk 2-4 per kg.

It has been seen that all the shops have good supply of rice. However, reports of rice imports from India have led to a crisis in the market. The price of all types of rice has come down by Rs 2-4 per kg. Twenty-eight varieties of rice are being sold at a reduced price of Tk 46 per kg, which was earlier sold at Tk 48-50 per kg. Besides, the price of Miniket variety of rice has been reduced to Tk 50-52 per kg. Earlier, this variety of rice was sold at Rs 56-58 per kg.
