22 lakh people lost their jobs in Corona
Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, 22 lakh 60 thousand people have lost their employment opportunities in the country. The poverty rate has increased by 9 percent to 29.5 percent. At the same time, the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth has fallen from the target of 37.4 billion dollars to 36.4 billion dollars.
The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) presented the review in a webinar titled ‘Current Status and Future of Bangladesh’s Economy from the Perspective of the Private Sector’ on Saturday (August 7th).
However, the organization thinks that despite various challenges, the country’s economy has been moving in the right direction in the last six months. At the same time, the country’s economy has made remarkable progress in this adverse situation. We need the public and private sectors to work together to achieve the projected targets of 2026 and 2041.
