Cabinet Committee approved to import LNG from Switzerland

The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved the purchase of 33 lakh 60 thousand MMBTU LNG from a Swiss company.

The meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Virtual Government Procurement was held at noon on Wednesday (July 14) under the chairmanship of the Finance Minister. The finance minister told reporters in an online briefing after the meeting.

He said, ‘LNG is imported from the spot market to increase the rapid supply of electricity and fuel. M / s of Switzerland through Petrobangla under the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources. AOT Trading AG has approved the import of 33 lakh 60 thousand MMBTU LNG at a cost of 436 crore 47 lakh 74 thousand 205 Taka. The price per unit is 13.068 dollars.
