An analysis of the latest data provided by the Tea Board of India shows that the country shipped 24.23 million tonnes of tea for export in the 2019-20 fiscal year. In the financial year 2020-21, 20 crore 20 lakh tons were shipped. As a result, exports have decreased by 16.30 percent.
Meanwhile, income has also declined due to the decline in exports. In the fiscal year 2020-21, the total income from the tea export sector has come to Rs 5,231.69 crore. In the previous season, the export income was Tk 5 thousand 457 crore 10 lakh. As a result, the income has decreased by 4.13 percent.
