Gov’t will borrow Tk 76,452 crore from banks
The government has set a target of borrowing Tk 76,452 crore from the banking system in FY 2021-22. Which is 2.2 percent of GDP.
The government had set a target of Tk 84,980 crore for bank loans in the current financial year. However, after the amendment, the bank loan has come down to Tk 79,749 crore.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said this in his budget speech for the fiscal year 2021-22 in Parliament on Thursday (June 3).
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is presenting the biggest budget in the history of Bangladesh, i.e. the budget for the coming 2021-2022 fiscal year, in the National Assembly. The size of this year’s budget is 6 lakh 3 thousand 681 crore taka.

The total income in the proposed budget is Tk 3 lakh 92 thousand 490 crore. Deficit 2 lakh 14 thousand 681 crore. The total development expenditure is 2 lakh 37 thousand 78 crore taka. Of this, the size of the Annual Development Program (ADP) has been estimated at Tk 2 lakh 25 thousand 324 crore. The total non-development expenditure is Tk 3 lakh 61 thousand 500 crore.
