Revenue of Tk 223 crore from fruits import in Bhomra

In the first ten months (July-April) of the current fiscal year 2020-21, 65,778 tonnes of fruits have been imported from Bhomra land port in Satkhira. From where the revenue of the government has been collected 223 crore 36 lakh taka. This information has been obtained from the revenue branch of Bhomra customs station.

It is learned that various fruits are imported through Bhomra port for 12 months. Notable among these are apples, grapes, pears, vedanas, malts, oranges, pomegranates and cherries. But in the current fiscal year 2020-21, fruit import through this port has decreased. Compared to the last financial year, the import has decreased by 20 percent till April of the current financial year.

Earlier, 86,767 tonnes of fruits were imported through this port in 10 months till July-April of the last financial year. At that time the government had collected revenue of Tk 294.70 crore.
