Imports of spices increased in Hili
Imports of spices through the Hili land port in Dinajpur have increased due to the increasing demand in the country’s market centered on the ongoing Ramadan and the upcoming Eid. According to port sources, about 9,000 tonnes of spices were imported through Hili land port from July to April last fiscal. At the same time this year, 22,000 tons of spices have been imported through the port under the Corona situation. Imports have increased by 13,000 tons.
In this regard, Shergul Islam and Alam Hossain, C&F agents of Hili land port, said that the importers have increased the import of spices. In addition, due to less traffic congestion in importing goods through Hili land port as compared to other ports, imported goods are reaching the port in the fastest time. As a result, importers from different places are importing goods through this port. They are supplying these products in different parts of the country including the capital Dhaka, Chittagong and Bogra.
