Tk 243 crore allocated for feasibility study of Meghna Bridge project
The government wants to build Meghna bridges at Chandpur-Shariatpur and Gazaria-Munshiganj. The government has appointed six companies as consultants to assess the feasibility of the bridge. The companies will submit a report to the government after examining the feasibility of building the bridge.
The proposal was approved in principle at a virtual meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday (April 7th). The meeting was attended by members of the committee, senior secretaries of the cabinet divisions, secretaries of the concerned ministries and senior officials.
At the end of the meeting, the Additional Secretary of the Cabinet presented the details of the approved proposals. Shahida Akhter.
Dr. Shahida Akhter said that Mechna Bridge in Chandpur-Shariatpur and Gazaria-Munshiganj has been jointly developed as a consulting firm and Teknica Y Practices SA of Japan, Nippon Koi Company Limited of Japan, Dozewae of South Korea, The Cabinet Committee has approved the appointment of Associates and Dave Consultants Limited. It will cost Tk 243 crore 18 lakh 59 thousand 563.
