BGMEA election: Foram’s goal is sustainable garment industry
The Forum has announced the BGMEA Board of Directors for the period 2021-2023 with the aim of building a sustainable garment industry sector in the upcoming elections.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Tuesday (March 30).
At this time, the current president of BGMEA, Dr. Leading entrepreneurs in the garment sector including Rubana Haque and panel leader of the forum ABM Samsuddin were present.
It was informed at the press conference that the leaders of the ‘Forum’ in the term 2019-2021. The BGMEA is headed by Rubana Haque. The Board, in collaboration with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has saved the life of Bangladesh’s economy and garment industry from disaster during the global epidemic.
However, the next two years will be a very difficult and challenging time for the garment industry. At this time BGMEA needs a strong board consisting of honest, dedicated, hardworking and experienced.
The forum is committed to gifting that board. If selected, the forum will work to build a ‘sustainable industry’ taking into account the overall state of the business and the global context.
The main manifesto of the forum is divided into 13 parts. These include Image, Business Cost Reduction and Facilitation, Small and Medium Enterprises, Sick Industry and Exit Policy, Product Prices and Buyer Accountability, Industry Security and Own Capabilities, Market Expansion, Technology Ability, LDC Graduation, Skills and Innovation, Sustainability and SDG, Labor Welfare and Transparent BGMEA.
