‘Mutual funds will receive big foreign investment’
Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Prof. Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam said work was being done to develop the mutual fund. Mutual funds will receive large foreign investments in the future.
He was speaking at a discussion on ‘Dialogue on Business and Economy’ at noon on Saturday (March 13th) at the Purana Paltan Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) auditorium in the capital.
“Mutual funds are doing well this quarter,” the BSEC chairman said. The funds have started paying dividends. Hopefully, investors will have confidence and trust in them when they receive dividends. This will turn the sector around.
“You will see that there will be a lot of participation of foreign investors in the bonds that will come in the market, including Sukuk, in the coming days,” he said. Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam said, Now it stands at Rs 5 lakh crore.
We hope to see a big change in the capital market in two years. Then we will be able to get out of the shallow capital market. ‘Responding to a question, the BSEC chairman said,’ Every regulator has its own responsibilities. According to his responsibilities, they have to work.
