Current supply by submarine cable to the remote char of Chandpur
The dream of about 50,000 people of Madhyachar, a riverine char area in Haimchar upazila of Chandpur district, to get electricity has come true.
On Tuesday, Shariatpur Palli Bidyut Samiti completed the experimental operation of the power supply in Madhyachar.The power connection will bring about a radical change in all spheres of agriculture, education, industry, trade and commerce of more than half a million residents of the char.
In this regard, it is learned that the supply of electricity has started for the people living in that remote char of Nilkamal Union by laying three submarine cables at a cost of Tk 62 crore through the bottom of a huge river.
The activities of Sakhipur area and related Palli Bidyut Samiti in Shariatpur are very close to that huge char area of Chandpur.
