Biden received official recognition as president
The US Congress has approved Joe Biden as the newly elected President of the United States just hours after a flurry of violent Trump supporters. He has been allowed to take oath on January 20. The approval came after the congressional session began on Thursday morning amid tight security.
Today’s session was chaired by Vice President Mike Pence. As soon as the issue was raised in the session, others, including Montana Senator Steve Dains, Indiana Mike Brown and Georgia’s Kelly Lofler, said they would no longer object to Biden’s victory. Some Republicans, however, challenged the results in Arizona, where Biden won by a narrow margin. Eventually many Republican members joined the minority Democratic bloc in the Senate; Who accepted Biden’s victory.
Basically, they refrained from creating new debates in the US capital after the horrific violence in the history of the United States. At least four people, including a woman, were killed in the violence.
