Fatema Begum Joins Bangladesh Finance as Director

Ms. Fatema Begum joins the board of directors of Bangladesh Finance, the country’s leading financial institution. The Central Bank approved her appointment as director Recently. She will also work as a member of the audit committee of Bangladesh Finance.

Bangladesh Finance informed this through a press release on Monday afternoon (July 31, 2023). In her long 31-year long career Fatema Begum worked in the top position of Bangladesh Police before joining the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Finance. She served as an Additional IG of Police before retiring. As the very first woman officer, she joined Bangladesh Police in 1984 through the Government Service Commission after completing her studies at Dhaka University.

Mr. Manwar Hossain, the chairman of Bangladesh Finance welcomes the appointment of Fatema Begum as director. In a formal response, he said, the inclusion of Fatema Begum to the board will unite and strengthen the position of Bangladesh Finance.

Welcoming this appointment, the Managing Director and CEO of the organization Md. Kyser Hamid said Fatema Begum’s joining and contribution to the financial sector of Bangladesh will diversify the board. Besides, with her skills and guidance Bangladesh Finance will go beyond.

In this regard, Fatema Begum said, she is proud to join Bangladesh Finance as a director; She also said that she will contribute to the future success of the organization.
