Islami Bank allowed to change It’s name
The Board of Directors has approved the change of name of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited. Henceforth the name of the bank is approved as ‘Islami Bank Bangladesh Plc’.
The approval was given at the bank’s 40th annual general meeting held on a virtual platform on Thursday (June 22). Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Tanveer Ahmed presided over it.
Yousif Abdullah Al-Razi, Vice Chairman of the Bank of Saudi Arabia, Director and representative of IDB. Arif Suleiman and other directors, managing director and chief executive Muhammad Munirul Mawla, Shari’ah Supervisory Committee Chairman Professor Dr. Muhammad Ghiyas Uddin Talukder, Additional Managing Director and Company Secretary JQM Habibullah, FCS and a significant number of shareholders including foreign institutional shareholders participated in the meeting on virtual platform.
The meeting also approved the financial statements for 2022, 10 percent cash dividend for shareholders, along with other agenda items.
