Asif Ibrahim re-elected as a chairman of CSE

The Board of Directors of Chittagong Stock Exchange PLC (CSE) has re-elected Asif Ibrahim as the Chairman of Chittagong Stock Exchange PLC in terms of the Exchange Demutualization Act, 2013.

All independent directors and shareholder directors of the exchange unanimously elected him for the next three years at a board meeting held on Sunday (February 26).

Earlier, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) approved a list of seven independent directors as the incumbents on the CSE board expired. As per BSEC’s approval, Asif Ibrahim will continue as Independent Director for another three years. However, Abdul Halim Chowdhury, Kashif Reza Chowdhury, Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Md. Sajib Hossain, CFA, Mrs. Istar Mahal and Md. Naqib Uddin Khan were newly nominated as Independent Directors of CSE. Moreover, the other four shareholder directors elected are Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Md. Mohiuddin, FCMA, Md. Rezaul Islam and Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury.
