For the first time, the Asia Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSCO) is going to be held in the country. The meeting will be held next Wednesday and Thursday (February 22 and 23) at Sheraton Hotel in the capital.

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) organized a press conference in this regard on Monday (February 20). The press conference was held at BSEC Multipurpose Hall.

Mahbubul Alam said that last year Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Professor Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam was elected to the post of Vice President of Asia Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) of International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) for the first time. He assumed the post of Vice Chair of Asia Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) of International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSCO) on October 17 last year. He took over from the previous committee for the period 2022-24 by participating in the 47th Annual Meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSCO) held in Morocco. It is a matter of great pride and honor for Bangladesh to get the position of vice-president in this international organization, which consists of capital market regulatory bodies around the world.
