Abdul Mannan promoted as executive director of Central Bank

Md. Abdul Mannan has been promoted as Executive Director (ED) of Bangladesh Bank. Till now he was in charge of Director (General Manager) Offsite Supervision Department.

Office orders regarding his promotion were issued on Thursday.

Bangladesh Bank informed this information through a press release on Sunday (February 19).

Abdul Mannan did his Bachelors and Masters in Mathematics from Dhaka University. Joined Bangladesh Bank as Assistant Director in 1993. Later he obtained MBA degree from IBA of Rajshahi University.

Prior to Offsite Supervision Department, he worked as Head Office Foreign Exchange Policy, Project Director of SREUP, Bogra and Rajshahi Offices of Bangladesh Bank. His village home is in Rajibpur upazila of Kurigram district.

Abdul Mannan also served as the project manager of the garment industry project funded by AFD. He is the Executive Director in charge of Foreign Exchange Operations Department and IPFF-OO Project.
