Banking diploma made mandatory for bankers’ promotion

Bangladesh Bank has made securing the banking diploma mandatory for bankers to get promoted to senior officers and above in order to increase their skills and efficiency.

In a notice today, the central bank said bankers will have to have a junior associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (JAIBB) and diploma associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (DAIBB) certificates, a benchmark of knowledge and experience of bankers regarding banking rules and norms.

The BB earlier made rules for allocating marks against banking diplomas in the total number needed to promote to general manager and equivalent posts.
