The Bangali families living in Geneva participated at the pitha utshab held at Geneva Bangla Pathashala on Sunday 22 January arranged by the recently reorganized Bangla Swiss Cultural Association (BSCA). Along with a wide variety of traditional Bangali pithas the event featured a cultural evening with music, recitation, and dance. Led by the President of the Association Reazul Haque Farhad, conducted by the General Secretary Ehteshamul Hoque and supported by Arinul Haque and Farana Haque, performances were offered by the students of the Bangla Pathshala Madiha, Nitu, Afsara, Dilara, Sunishka, Bibhor, Rodela and several guest artists.

The Bangla Pathshala since its inception in 2013 has been providing Bangla language education to the children of Bangali families living in Geneva and organizing cultural education and activities. The newly reorganized Bangla Swiss Cultural Association that now involves Bangalis from Bangladesh and India is organizing various cultural programmes throughout the year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Bangla Pathshala. The next programme of Bangla Pathshala will be in February to observe the International Mother Language Day.
