Netherlands interested to investing in maritime infrastructure
Anne van Leeuwen, the newly appointed Dutch Ambassador to Bangladesh, said that there is interest among Dutch investors in sustainable river development, river governance, river dredging and above all in building aquatic infrastructure in Bangladesh.
On Wednesday (September 8th) He made the remarks during a meeting with Rizwan Rahman, president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).
Referring to Bangladesh’s maritime economy as a very promising sector at the time, Dhaka Chamber President Rizwan Rahman said, “The experience and expertise of the Netherlands can play a very effective role in reaping the benefits of this sector.”
DCCI President said, “In the fiscal year 2019-20, the bilateral trade between the two countries was 1.23 billion US dollars, while Bangladesh’s imports and exports were 138 million dollars and 1.09 billion US dollars, respectively.”
