Onion import from India has increased through Hili land port in Dinajpur. The price of onion has come down by Tk 2 per kg in the wholesale and retail markets of the port due to increase imports.

Meanwhile, wholesalers from different parts of the country have been seen crowding the port area. On the other hand, as onion is a raw product, the Healy Panama Authority, a private operative, is cooperating with all possible means to get it released from the port quickly.

On Saturday this week Onions were sold at Tk 30-32 per kg in the market. The onion is being sold at Tk 28 per kg on Tuesday.
