Govt will provide assistance to potato export and processing
Agriculture Minister Md. Abdur Razzak said that that all possible cooperation will be provided for the export and processing of potatoes. He said the country currently produces more than 10 million tonnes of potatoes a year. But potato chips and pringles have to be imported from abroad at high prices. Institutions involved in potato processing and value addition in the country need to produce quality chips, pringles, french fries. Also, you need to find out what other products can be made using the versatility of potatoes.
On Sunday (September 5) This information was given at a meeting at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) auditorium on what needs to be done to increase potato processing. On the same day, representatives of the country’s processed food manufacturers, processing companies, representatives of potato and vegetable exporters’ associations, government stakeholders met with various stakeholders.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Mesbahul Islam was the chief guest at the meeting chaired by the Minister of Agriculture. Abdur Razzak.
