The World Bank has praised Bangladesh's economy for doing well despite the coronavirus epidemic.
The World Bank has said that Bangladesh has been making unprecedented development even in the Great Depression of Covid-19. GDP growth has also maintained a positive trend. The World Bank will continue to provide loan assistance for the prosperity of Bangladesh, the organization said. As in the past, the World Bank will stand by Bangladesh in the future as well.
Salman F. Rahman, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment, met with Axel von Trotsenberg, Managing Director (Operations) of the World Bank at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington DC on Friday. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the World Bank.
At the meeting, World Bank officials praised Bangladesh.
Salman F Rahman led the Bangladesh delegation. The delegation included Finance Secretary Abdur Rauf Talukder, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Executive Chairman Sirajul Islam, Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Economic Relations Department (ERD) Secretary Fatima Yasmin and Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
