The Tele Consumers Association of Bangladesh (TCAB) has demanded immediate refund of Tk 214 crore taken in advance or delivery of goods to e-commerce company evaly as per the Digital Commerce Management Guideline-2021.
TCAB convener Murshidul Haque made the demand in a press release sent to the media on Sunday (July 11).
Murshidul Haque said that the gazette was published on July 4 by formulating ‘Digital Commerce Management Guideline 2021’. The guideline states, "If the full price of the product has been paid, delivery must be made within a maximum of five days after the buyer-seller resides in the same city and within a maximum of 10 days if located in a different city or village." But we can see that thousands of orders from customers all over the country including Dhaka have been left by various e-commerce companies including evaly for months.
Even after waiting for 1-6 months, the customer is not getting any return of the product or money. Even after going to the offices of the accused organizations and waiting for hours, no results are found. However, according to the 'Digital Commerce Management Guideline 2021', the companies have to return the products or money to the customers within 10 days.
