Record 45.46 billion dollars foreign exchange reserves

Based on remittances, the country’s foreign exchange reserves stood at 45.46 billion dollars. The reserve touched the milestone for the first time on June 17 in the Corona riots. Which is more than ever before.

According to the central bank, the last reserve of the country’s central bank on June 17 stood at 45.46 billion dollars or about four thousand 546 million dollars. In Bangladeshi currency the amount is Tk 3 lakh 86 thousand crore (85 Tk per dollars). It is possible to meet the import expenditure of more than 11 months with this foreign currency in reserve as 4 billion dollars import expenditure per month.

Meanwhile, the reserve, one of the driving forces of the economy, grew by 26.15 percent or 9.42 billion dollars in the current fiscal year (as of June 18). At the beginning of the fiscal year 2020-21, that is June 30, which was 36.03 billion dollars.

According to the central bank, the country’s reserves crossed45 billion for the first time on May 3 this year. On the same day, the reserves increased to 45.10 billion dollars.
