Investors’ confidence returned with new commission’s move
I have been seeing new types in the capital market for the last 1 year. The new commission has taken many beautiful steps. Here the confidence of investors has returned. In addition, transactions and market capitalization have increased. At the same time the basic problem is trying to get out of the equity based market. Overall, I see a good future for the capital market.
Salman F Rahman, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Private Industry, was the chief guest at an online seminar on ‘Post-Budget Discussion and Path to Stock Market Development’ organized by Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA) and Capital Market Journalists Forum (CMJF) on Saturday (June 19).
Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Prof. Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam, Commissioner Dr. were present as special guests on the occasion. Sheikh Samsuddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). Yunusur Rahman and Asif Ibrahim, chairman of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).
Also present as negotiators were DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) President Sharif Anwar Hossain and AMC Association President Dr. Hasan Imam.
