World trade of LNG has intensified

Global trade in natural gas (LNG) has grown at a record high in the last year. However, restrictions imposed on the country in the Corona epidemic at that time curbed the demand for the product. This information has come up in the annual report of the International Gas Union (IGU). Reuters.

According to the report, a total of 35 crore 61 lakh tonnes of LNG was traded in the world market last year. Compared to 2019, the volume of trade has increased by 0.4 percent or 1.4 million tons. The United States and Australia supplied the most LNG to the international market last year. This is why global trade is accelerating.

According to the IGU, the crisis caused by the Corona epidemic has caused huge losses to the global commodity market. LNG is one of the few commodities in which trade was on the rise. However, despite the increase in the turnover of the fuel product, trade has progressed at a slower pace. In 2019, the growth rate of LNG trade was 11.5 percent or 49 million tons. However, the speed rate in 2020 was lower than this.
