Onion prices decreasing in Hili

After a month and four days of import permission (IP) from India, import has started through Hili land port in Dinajpur. As a result, the price of onion has started declining. In just one day, the price of imported and domestic onion has come down to Tk 15-18 per kg. This has brought relief to the consumers. If the import increases, the price of onion will come down to Tk 20-25 per kg, said the importers of the port.

On Thursday afternoon, 95 tonnes of onions were imported from India in four trucks. These onions are imported by Messrs. Ryan Traders of Healy Land Port. Imported onions were sold at Tk 32-34 per kg, according to company sources.
