Onion import from India has been stopped at Hili land port in Dinajpur due to expiration of Onion Import Certificate (IP). The prices of imported and domestic onion has increased by Rs 4-5 per kg in five days due to reduced supply of the product. Meanwhile, all classes of people are in trouble due to the increase in the price of the daily necessities during the lockdown and Ramadan.

It can be seen that Indian onion was being sold at Rs 22-24 per kg a few days ago but now it is being sold at Rs 27-28 per kg. Similarly, domestic onion used to be sold at Rs 30-32 per kg but now it is being sold at Rs 35-36 per kg.
