Import-export time reduced to two and a half hours in Hili
Due to the corona epidemic, the import-export activities between Bangladesh and India through the Hili land port in Dinajpur have been reduced by two and a half hours. At the same time, it has been decided to send all the Indian truck drivers and assistants to India on the same day after unloading the goods. The decision has been implemented since Sunday.
It is learned that the decision has been taken as per the instructions of the port authorities and through discussions between the local administration, customs, port authorities, C&F agents, importers and exporters. Earlier, import-export activities were conducted from 9 am to 6:30 pm. Now it has been reduced from 9 am to 4 pm. Indian truck drivers will be sent to India to unload goods from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Besides, empty trucks will be sent from 8 am to 9 am.
Coronavirus infections have been on the rise in India recently. Bangladesh has closed its border with the country to prevent infection. But import-export activities are being conducted between the two countries through land ports in compliance with health rules.
