Global food grain stocks will fall to a five-years low
The global food grain sector has begun to overcome the epidemic corona crisis. However, stocks in this sector are starting to decrease. The International Grain Council (IGC) has forecast that global food grain stocks will fall to a five-year low in the 2020-21 marketing season. In this marketing season, the stock of food grains will be reduced to 60 crore 90 lakh tons. This was predicted in a report released by the IGC on Thursday on the global food grain market. According to the IGC report, the use of grains has increased due to adequate production. However, for two consecutive seasons, the amount of stock has gone to the bottom.
Global food grain production has increased month-on-month and year-on-year in the current season. Production has increased by 2 percent to 2 million tons compared to last month. Besides, the production has increased by 2 percent as compared to last year and stood at 222 crore 60 lakh tonnes. Meanwhile, the demand for maize and wheat for general use has increased in the industrial sector.
