Instructions to bring all rice ‍at market by April 30

To prevent the rice crisis in the country, all the privately-imported importers who have opened LCs between March 25 and February 15 will have to market their rice by April 30. On Friday (April 23), the Ministry of Food sent two letters to the Director General of the Food Department stating the last time the rice was brought.

Earlier, the deadline for LC to bring all the rice to the market expired on April 20.

The letter said that the time limit has been extended till April 30 for the complete marketing of LCs of those importers who have opened LCs between March 25 and February 15 but could not market rice. This time will not be extended.
