The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has suspended all Indian visa centers in Bangladesh. The High Commission made the announcement on Wednesday as the lockdown has started in Bangladesh from April 14. This information has been given in a report of DD News, a media run by the Government of India.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic last year, the Indian High Commission suspended visa operations in Bangladesh for about six months. Later, as the infection subsided, they resumed their activities last October.
At that time, all types of visa applications except tourist visas were accepted by the Indian visa centers located in Bangladesh.
Most foreign tourists to India go from Bangladesh. In 2019, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka issued more than 1.6 million visas.
