One crore 25 lakhs families will get food aid in lockdown
In order to prevent the outbreak of the epidemic corona, the government will provide food assistance to one crore 25 lakh families in this year’s lockdown. As part of the assistance, these families will be given 10 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulses, salt and soybean oil and 4 kg of potatoes. These families will get assistance once a week. And if the lockdown does not increase, the program will be suspended. According to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief said. Md. Enamur Rahman said Tk 451 crore was recently released in the VGF program and Tk 121 crore in the GR program to help the poor ahead of the upcoming Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr. But an increase in the incidence of coronavirus has been announced. This will cause problems for many day laborers and low income earners. Due to this, the distribution of VGF and GR money has been postponed. It has now been decided that food assistance will be provided to the families who are facing problems due to the lockdown. VGF money will be discounted later.
