DSE’s pre-open session closed from Sunday
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main capital market, closed its pre-open session on Sunday. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the DSE today.
Earlier, on November 19, 2020, the pre-open session, opening session, closing session and post-closing session are going to be launched on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
It may be mentioned that the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the pre-open session, opening session, closing session and post-closing session on October 20, 2020, subject to completion of UAT and market awareness by the stakeholders.
The pre-opening and opening session of DSE will be from 9:45 am to 10 am. In this session, investors could only buy or sell shares. An ideal opening price was set in this session. The opening price will be the price at which the maximum number of buyers and sellers will be. The transaction would be completed at this opening price at regular intervals. Instead, the regular session would continue as usual.
Meanwhile, the closing and post-closing sessions will begin at 2.30 pm after the end of normal transactions. Its duration will be 10 minutes. At this time, investors will not be able to offer a new share price. You will only get the opportunity to buy or sell shares at the closing price. The session will end at 2:40 pm.
