Ruppur power plants 35 percent work completed
The epidemic of coronavirus has affected almost all government projects in the country. This has hampered the progress of the project. However, the construction work of the country’s first nuclear power project is moving forward at a fast pace. In the meantime, the parts of the first unit have arrived. Parts of the second unit are also on the way. Concerned officials said that 35 percent of the project implementation has been completed so far. They are hoping that the whole work can be completed within the stipulated time. And when the work is completed, electricity can be supplied to 13 districts of the country. It is learned that 610 km grid line will be constructed for this power supply.
One of the country’s most expensive mega projects ‘Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant’ is being constructed on 62 acres of land at Ruppur in Ishwardi of Pabna district. The power plant with a total generating capacity of 2,400 MW is being constructed in two units. In this regard, the concerned officials said, the way the work of the first unit is progressing, it can be completed by the middle of 2023. Already 35 percent of the project has been completed. And so far 39 thousand 741 crore 24 lakh 65 thousand taka has been spent on the work.
