Bangladesh is worlds best position in hilsa production

At present Bangladesh is in the best position in the world in hilsa extraction. Besides, Bangladesh ranks second in freshwater fish production, third in freshwater fish production and fifth in fish farming. Fisheries and Livestock Minister Sham Rezaul Karim said, “It is because of the special role of fishermen that we have been able to bring about a radical change in fish production around the world today.”

He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the Naval Rally-2021 organized by the Central Executive Committee of the Awami Matsyajibi League at Mill Barrack Naval Jetty in Gandaria on Tuesday (March 30) on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary and golden jubilee of independence.

He also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has a role to play in this huge contribution to the fisheries sector. The Prime Minister has given utmost importance to the fisheries sector. He wants the rice and fish of Bengali culture not to become extinct. Don’t let the fish crisis.
