Indonesia’s palm oil reserves could fall by 50 percent

Indonesia is currently the world’s largest producer of palm oil. However, the country has not been able to keep up with growing demand. The Indonesian Palm Oil Association recently said that by the end of this year, the country’s stockpile of these consumer goods could have been reduced by almost half to 26 lakhs 70 thousand tonnes. At the end of 2020, Indonesia’s palm oil reserves stood at 48 lakhs 70 thousand tons. By the end of this year, the amount is expected to decrease by another 45 percent, the association said.
