Energypack spent Tk 7 crore to protect river

According to a BBC survey, 435 rivers in different parts of Bangladesh are now under threat, of which 50 to 80 are endangered. However, the hope is to protect the river, the authorities as well as a number of responsible institutions in the country have come forward. Among them is Energypack Power Generation Limited, one of the leading companies in the power and energy sector. Energypack Bangladesh has spent around Tk 7 crore on river protection in Chalna and Batiaghata areas of G-Gas LPG plant in Dakope, Khulna. The money spent will help protect rivers and riverine infrastructure and villages.

The company said in a press release that the project has provided employment opportunities to the local people. More than 250 people are involved in the river cleaning program. This river cleaning initiative will benefit thousands of families in 25 villages. The river cleaning program, which started in 2018, has been running over an area of ​​about 1,500 meters from the company’s Batiaghata landing station.
