The Bangladesh Securities Exchange Commission (BSEC) has said that despite the outbreak of epidemic corona, capital market transactions will continue if banks and financial institutions remain open.
BSEC Executive director and spokesman Rezaul Karim, confirmed the information on Thursday (March 18th).
Rezaul Karim said, ‘The commission has not taken any decision to stop trading in the capital market. There are no plans to shut it down. ”A total of 12 proposals were adopted at an emergency meeting chaired by Health Department Director General Abul Bashar Khurshid Alam on Tuesday. They have been sent to the ministry and cabinet secretaries.
However, the health minister said, they are not going to make a decision like lockdown. Although the government has decided to open schools, colleges and universities, the department is thinking the opposite. They are also in favor of closing the institutions that are open now. In such a situation, investors are fearing the closure of the capital market again.
